Monsters and Bad Boys

As I talked about Famous actors in my last post I got interested in what kind of Horror Monsters and bad guys have been in films. Monsters from The Wolf Man to Frankenstein to today’s Predator or Aliens have created a sense of fear in movies. Bad Guys or according to best-horror-movies.com which states bad guys as “Meanies” have also gave horror movies to the next level of fear. Coming from old timers Nosferatu to Jason and Michal Meyers in today’s Theaters. Back in 1941, the Wolf Man had been created which was about a wolf man haunting Talbot Castle. The film was a hit thus then Werewolf was created in 1956. One scary monster that haunted teenage boys and girls in their sleep is Nightmare on Elm Street. Freddy Krueger was the monster who haunted your fears in your dreams; he had knives in his hand and could never be killed. Nightmare on Elm Street stunned and scared people when it was released in 1987. Here a good Link of what the movie is about http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MQrYE97Oyf0 More monsters were created such as the movie Clover field. I personally did not like Clover field because you barely get clinches of the monster terrorizing the city and the hand held camera involvement. Going into bad boys or “meanies” in horror films my personal favorite is The Texas Chainsaw massacre rating were well for this movie which was a remake of the original one from 1974. Heres a Trailer of the 1974 Texas Chainsaw Massacre http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=285ImXTYdsg Jason also Michel Meyers were bad boys slasher teen movies. Jason has many movies and Michel Meyers as well. Jason or Friday the 13 is about a bad boy with a hockey mask and a giant machedy who comes from evil to kill kids from Camp Crystal Lake. Michal Meyers is about a bad boy who had a bad child life who just likes to hurt people and the feeling from what he gets from it. Without Monsters or Bad Boys in horror films I don’t think I would like movies in general.

  1. I like scary movies just for the thrill( I jump at almost everything even if it isn't scary :S) and I usually have nightmares even at this age! So after I watch a scary movie I have to watch a happy one! There are those certain movies though that I think need to show more of the killers or bad guys because if they don't the whole point of the movie is lost...

  2. The bad guys in scary movies are the ones you always remember to. I watched the old texas chainsaw massacre, although it was kind of corny and the bad guy doesn't look quite as scary, it was a good attempt at a scary movie.

  3. I've only seen part of the original The Wolf Man but I liked it. I thought for back in the day it was pretty scary. The make-up they did for the Wolf Man was pretty good. They seemed to have given it quite a bit of thought.
I really enjoyed Texas Chainsaw Massacre. I've only seen the new but I'd like to see the original. It had alot of things you weren't expecting and probably weren't ready for. I have never seen any of the Jason or Freddie movies...and I don't know that I would want to. The movies I can not stand, above all, are the Chucky movies and any movie with a Ventriloquist Doll! Those movies, for some reason, scare the crap out of me!
They've come a long way with special effects and make-up. It's almost amazing what they are able to do and how realistic they can make everything look.

  4. Jesse, dare I say it but this post was a "frighteningly" good one! Many of these baddies have scared me in one way or another, especially Freddy. These movies are classics and they are almost the necessary evil to make a good movie. The Friday the 13th series added another installment to the series and I am very excited to see it. The Texas Chainsaw Massacre movies scared me, not because of the movies themselves, but the fact that they were based on actual murders. I did like the movie Cloverfield, because it was one of the few "scary" movies that made me wonder what in the heck was going on. Good Work.

  5. Scary movies are always kind a fun-game for the young generation, as it creates curiosity and excitement. Most of the people question that, how can something be fun, if it scares you. But the answer to these people is, most of the Horror movies are not scary. So some of them which are scary, gives us a certain kick, and interest due to its versitility.
